About
Emily runs The Doggy Hotel And Bakery and has been around animals all her life, having grown up with various cats, dogs, rabbits etc! Her biggest love is her dogs and everyone else's! Having parents with a love of Border Collies, from a young baby this breed became a huge part of her life, from rearing them to training classes she was hooked on dogs. In recent years Emily's love of terriers grew, her own collection includes Tiny the Jack Russell who was hand reared by Emily in 2002, she then went on to help hand rear a Manchester Terrier x litter in 2007, Emily kept Miffy from this litter but sadly Miffy passed away early 2015 from a tumour and is greatly missed.
In 2012 Emily adopted Pie the Border Collie from Stokenchurch Dog Rescue as a very scared boy who had a history of abuse, with lots of love and patience he is now a confident happy boy who is incredible with other dogs, children.... well anything really!!
Tiny and Pie can be found lounging on their favourite sofa in The Doggy Hotel, they always look forward to welcoming new doggy friends into their home. Emily had great delight in breeding her own litter of gorgeous terriers in 2011 and often sees her puppies in the local area with their owners. Her second passion is her horses, being the owner of three. Emily enjoys hacking and schooling in her spare time and competes when she can.
Not only has Emily a huge amount of experience with dogs in her personal life she also has vast amounts in her working career, having been a personal dog keeper for a Lord & Lady through to working for high profile people where discretion is key.
For over 7 years she worked at a vets and has experience with injuries and specialises in caring for convalescing dogs and senior dogs with ongoing medical problems. Some of our long standing doggy clients need medicating and pill giving so this is something we are used to doing. We also have had great success with reactive dogs and can cater for dogs needing patience and understanding, we work closely with a dog behaviourist and can highly recommend this as the first step in helping a dog that needs one to one training.
Various references are readily available. We are CRB/DBS checked, Dog First Aid trained and fully insured with PetPlan Sanctuary.
